MBG Budget Absorbed Rp35.6 Trillion, 40 Million Beneficiaries

Indonesia’s National Nutrition Agency (BGN) reported that the free nutritious meals (MBG) program has absorbed Rp35.6 trillion in 2025, equivalent to 50.1 % of the original Rp71‑trillion budget. An additional Rp100 trillion approved mid‑year raised the total allocation to Rp171 trillion.
Budget absorption has risen as the number of service units—known as nutrition service points (SPPG)—increased to 13,514 public kitchens across 38 provinces, 509 regencies and 7,022 districts. About 200 new SPPG are added daily, which could allow the program to reach 82.9 million beneficiaries by year‑end.
If the 82.9‑million target is not met, the government aims for at least 75 million beneficiaries. BGN head Dadan Hindayana said the achievement will be recognized by the President, while unused funds will be returned.
