Home Ministry Urges Regions to Boost PAD and Cut Spending

The Ministry of Home Affairs reiterated the need for efficient regional budgets across Indonesia. Deputy Minister Bima Arya Sugiarto said efficiency is essential for a healthier APBD that directly benefits the public.

He explained that a sound APBD requires strengthening local own-source revenue (PAD) and cutting unnecessary expenditures. According to him, spending must be maximized, avoid failed auctions, and focus on sectors that can contribute to PAD. Local governments are urged to reduce or eliminate non‑essential spending.
