Finance Minister Unaware of One Hundred Percent ESDM Pay Raise

On 28 October 2025, Finance Minister Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa said he had not received any official letter or directive about a one hundred percent increase in the performance allowance (tukin) for civil servants in the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM). He made the comment during a press briefing in Jakarta.

Earlier, Energy Minister Bahlil Lahadalia claimed that President Prabowo Subianto had approved the raise as recognition for the sector’s strategic contribution. The Finance Ministry replied that it will act on the increase only after receiving a written instruction from the President.

Implementation would require the 2026 state budget to allocate additional funds to the ESDM ministry. The current lack of official confirmation delays budget adjustments and may affect civil‑servant remuneration planning.
