Finance Minister: Tax Officer’s 5 AM Reminder Not ‘Gangsterism’

Finance Minister Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa said the alleged gangsterism by an account representative (AR) at KPP Pratama Tigaraksa was not confirmed. Treasury investigations found the AR’s action was merely a tax reminder.

The AR sent a message at 5:41 a.m., reminding a taxpayer of a Rp300,000 arrears and warning that the PKP status could be revoked. Purbaya explained the AR acted under heavy workload and fear of forgetting. He ordered both coaching and a light sanction for the employee.
