Finance Minister Purbaya Inspects Tanjung Priok Port

Finance Minister Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa carried out a surprise inspection at Tanjung Priok Port in North Jakarta on Tuesday, 14 October 2025. The visit focused on the “green lane,” a customs procedure that releases imported goods based solely on document review without physical inspection.

Purbaya stated the inspection was not meant to tighten the green lane but to verify that imports comply with document, weight and volume limits. He instructed customs officers to conduct random and regular checks to prevent smuggling.

The ministry plans to continue random inspections at other ports and airports, aiming to strengthen import oversight and reduce the risk of violations and illicit trade.
