Finance Minister Confident 8 Percent Growth Target Is Feasible

Finance Minister Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa said at the 79th Oeang Day ceremony in Jakarta that the national economic growth target of 8 % remains realistic. The remarks were made on Friday, 31 October 2025.

The 8 % target aligns with President Prabowo Subianto’s goal to accelerate economic recovery. Purbaya emphasized the Ministry of Finance’s role in ensuring optimal budget absorption, fostering a conducive investment climate, and guaranteeing that growth benefits all segments of society. He added that achieving the target requires cooperation among all stakeholders.

The statement underscores the government’s fiscal policy focus, while the 2025 state budget projects 5.2 % growth and the 2026 budget projects 5.4 %. Meeting the 8 % goal could boost investor confidence and support taxpayer welfare.
