Finance Minister Backs DJP Micromanagement to Close Tax Shortfall

Finance Minister Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa said he supports the micromanagement effort the Directorate General of Taxes (DJP) will undertake to close the tax shortfall. He stressed that collection must be professional, not coercive.

The micromanagement aims to maximize untapped tax potential while leveraging the Coretax Administration system, which is expected to operate more effectively soon. The new system should improve tax collection efficiency.

Director General of Taxes Bimo Wijayanto noted that each regional office will monitor taxpayers and optimize remaining potential.
