East Kalimantan Province Joins Vehicle Tax Raid, 800 Units Seized

East Kalimantan Province, through the Samarinda Regional Tax Office, took part in the Zebra Mahakam 2025 operation on 29 November 2025, seizing 600 motorcycles and 200 cars that had not paid Vehicle Tax (PKB). The raid was conducted together with the local Samsat, traffic police, Jasa Raharja, and the regional revenue agency.
Head of the tax office, Supriyadi, said arrears on PKB in Samarinda are significant, prompting regular raids to improve taxpayer compliance. Officers also set up on‑site payment facilities so taxpayers can settle their debts without visiting the Samsat office.
Vehicle tax revenue is a key component of East Kalimantan's own-source revenue, so higher compliance is expected to boost regional finances and support development projects in Samarinda.
