DJP DIY Seizes Taxpayer’s Land and Vehicles After Unpaid Fine

The DJP DIY regional office seized land and vehicles belonging to taxpayer S after a court ordered a fine of Rp16.69 billion. The Supreme Court decision No. 842 PK/ served as the legal basis.

The fine equals twice the unpaid tax amount, as required by tax law. Because S did not pay within one month after the ruling became final, his assets were confiscated for auction. Dwi Hariyadi, head of Examination, Collection, Intelligence and Investigation, said the action protects state revenue.

The enforcement aims to deter tax crimes and safeguard government income. It also signals to other taxpayers the importance of filing accurate returns and paying on time. Seized land parcels were marked with official notice boards.
