Batam Tax Festival 2025 Offers Home, Motorbike or Umrah Prizes

Batam city government launched the 2025 Tax Festival on 9 November 2025. The initiative targets taxpayers of PBB‑P2, the land‑and‑building tax in the city.

PBB‑P2 is a tax on rural and urban land and buildings that must be paid on time. The city offers digital payment via QRIS and an online portal, and provides prizes such as a house, motorbike, bicycle or an Umrah pilgrimage for those who settle the tax. The aim is to raise compliance and simplify payment.

The program is expected to boost local tax revenue and support Batam’s development. Wider use of digital platforms should also increase public participation.
