Balikpapan City Recovers Rp20 Billion Tax Arrears via Cooperation

Balikpapan City and the Balikpapan Prosecutor's Office began tax‑arrears collection on Monday, 27 October 2025, securing at least Rp20 billion. The effort is authorized by a Special Power of Attorney granting the prosecutor’s office collection authority.

The prosecutor’s office intensified outreach and enforcement toward taxpayers with debts aged one to five years. The Regional Tax Office (BPPDRD) said the collaboration raises taxpayer awareness of payment obligations.

Idham expects the prosecutor’s support to lower arrears ratios, boost Regional Original Revenue, and stabilize local finances. Authorities plan to intensify collection to recover the remaining large receivables.
