Simbara to Add Gold and Copper Monitoring Features by 2025-2026

JAKARTA – The Simbara digital platform (Mineral and Coal Information System) will introduce two new features to monitor gold and copper commodities. The copper feature is scheduled to become operational on 15 December 2025, while the gold feature will be added in 2026.

Simbara integrates data from mining planning through processing, refining and sales, enabling oversight of state revenue (PNBP) and export duties. Gold and copper were chosen because they are vital natural resources that can boost tax and non‑tax receipts with greater transparency.

The expansion widens Simbara’s scope beyond coal, bauxite, nickel and tin to include gold and copper, which is expected to raise government revenue. Officials note that further commodity additions will depend on inter‑agency coordination and system readiness.
