Purbaya: Regions Hoard Rp100 Trillion Over Start Funding Fears

Finance Minister Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa told the House Commission XI in Jakarta on 27 November 2025 that regional governments are holding up to Rp100 trillion in bank accounts.

The regions keep the money because they fear a budget shortfall in January‑February, which could stall local programs; Purbaya plans to accelerate the central‑to‑regional TKD transfers and provide budgeting education.

A faster TKD system is expected to improve budget absorption, reduce idle funds, and strengthen the fiscal impact of regional spending on the national economy.
