Purbaya Details Coretax Upgrade Challenges Through Feb 2026

Finance Minister Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa disclosed the challenges of upgrading the Coretax system at the 100 Indonesian Economists forum in Jakarta on 29 October 2025. He said the upgrade is ongoing and the government has identified several weaknesses.

Purbaya noted that his IT team completed fixes on layer 1 and layer 2, but layer 3, which affects user applications, remains under the responsibility of contractor CNS‑Qualysoft. Daily government feedback is being provided to accelerate code improvements.

The minister aims to resolve all Coretax issues by February 2026 and is considering terminating the contractor if responsiveness does not improve. Timely completion is expected to enhance tax administration efficiency.
