Medan City Launches Smart Tax Mobile and Office Apps

On 7 December 2025, the Medan City Regional Revenue Office launched two digital applications, Smart Tax Mobile and Smart Tax Office, to expand local tax services. The launch took place at an official ceremony attended by regional officials and community representatives.

Smart Tax Mobile allows taxpayers to register, file, pay and print receipts for regional taxes independently, and to submit inquiries or complaints through the Lapor Bapenda feature with a response within one business day. Smart Tax Office is used by Bapenda staff to monitor tax receipts in real time and to manage registration and reporting data.

The online services are expected to boost taxpayer compliance and public confidence in Medan’s tax administration. Mayor Rico Waas emphasized the need for QRIS payment integration and a dashboard displaying active taxpayers and defaulters to enhance fiscal transparency.
