Gunung Mas Installs 65 Tapping Boxes to Record Tax Transactions
December 9, 2025 • Ben Asmadeus

On 9 December 2025, the Gunung Mas regency in Central Kalimantan installed 65 tapping boxes at hotels, restaurants and eateries. The devices were deployed jointly by the regional tax office and the Kuala Kurun branch of Bank Kalteng.
A tapping box is an electronic device that records every tax‑related payment transaction, improving data accuracy and transparency. The installation aims to strengthen three pillars of regional tax management: data accuracy, transparency, and revenue optimization.
More reliable transaction records are expected to raise Gunung Mas’s original regional revenue and enhance taxpayer compliance. Authorities and the bank urge businesses to operate the devices according to guidelines to maintain trust between the government and taxpayers.
