Finance Minister Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa on 29 November 2025 in Jakarta emphasized tax compliance for palm‑oil plantation businesses. At a tax‑obligation briefing organized by the Directorate General of Taxes, about 200 entrepreneurs representing 137 strategic taxpayers attended.
Purbaya described the palm‑oil sector as a backbone of the national industry and stated that operations must follow regulations, including tax payments. He also referenced a joint Ministry of Finance‑Police operation that uncovered CPO smuggling and warned of enforcement against under‑invoicing and fake invoices.
The government aims to boost state revenue while fostering a fair, transparent business climate. The Directorate General of Taxes will engage in dialogue with firms and apply proportional enforcement to preserve the sector’s competitiveness.
