Jakarta, 2 December 2025 – The government has established a Debottlenecking Working Group (WG) to address investment obstacles that impede economic growth. The WG operates under the Strategic Programs Acceleration Task Force (Satgas P2SP) of the Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs and will review cases on a regular basis.
The Debottlenecking WG serves as the official channel for businesses to report on‑ground hurdles; Finance Minister Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa said he will chair daily hearings to examine each submission. He cited his prior experience at the Coordinating Ministry for Maritime Affairs, where 193 investment‑blocking cases worth IDR 894 trillion were resolved between 2016 and 2019.
Purbaya noted that Indonesia’s competitiveness remains weaker than many Southeast Asian peers, citing Nvidia’s choice of Johor, Malaysia for its new investment. He urged the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KADIN) to gather sector associations and forward detailed issues, aiming for regulatory improvements driven from the field.
