Coretax Set to Operate Fully by Mid‑December 2025

Finance Minister Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa announced that Coretax will be operational by mid‑December 2025 after technical fixes are completed. The upgrade addresses two of the three development layers of the system.

The Ministry of Finance and the Directorate General of Taxes have refined the core architecture and are accelerating the base‑layer repair through technical investigations with the contractor. A large‑scale test with 25,000 simultaneous users ran smoothly. Coretax follows a self‑assessment model, requiring taxpayers to register voluntarily.

In 2025, Coretax use is mandatory for corporate taxpayers, about two million entities of which roughly one million are active. Starting in 2026, individual taxpayers will also be required to migrate as the legacy platform is retired. The Directorate General of Taxes will continue outreach, coaching clinics, and digital simulations to support the transition.
