Cooperative Compliance Urges Taxpayer Transparency, Certainty

On 17 November 2025, FEB UI and DDTC co‑hosted a seminar titled "Reinventing Tax Compliance: From Enforcement to Cooperative Compliance". The founder of DDTC Darussalam delivered the keynote address.

He explained that cooperative compliance (a collaborative approach between taxpayers and the tax authority) works best when taxpayers are transparent and the DJP (Directorate General of Taxes) guarantees tax certainty. Both sides are expected to cooperate to reduce disputes.

The remarks signal a shift from punitive enforcement toward partnership, aiming to lower compliance costs and improve revenue certainty for the state.
