BGN to Close SPPGs Lacking SLHS Certification in Meals Program
November 11, 2025 • Ben Asmadeus

The National Nutrition Agency (BGN) announced on 11 November 2025 that kitchens of Satuan Pelayanan Pemenuhan Gizi (SPPG) units without a SLHS hygiene‑sanitation certificate will be temporarily closed. The measure applies to all SPPG participating in the Free Nutritious Meal (MBG) program.
BGN gave SPPGs a one‑month deadline to register with the local health department and obtain the SLHS, a certificate confirming that the facility meets hygiene and health standards for one year. The requirement is stipulated in Health Minister Regulation No. 1096/2011, updated by Regulation No.
Out of roughly 14,000 operating SPPGs, only 1,287 have received SLHS, so the closures aim to protect consumers and preserve the integrity of the MBG program. SPPG heads are urged to complete registration promptly to keep meal services running.
