BGN Launches Automatic Funding Scheme for MBG 2026
December 4, 2025 • Ben Asmadeus

The National Nutrition Agency (BGN) announced an automatic funding scheme for the Free Nutritious Meal (MBG) program starting in January 2026. The scheme will transfer funds automatically to 24,700 nutrition service units (SPPG) via virtual accounts.
Each SPPG will maintain an operational balance; if the balance falls below IDR 500 million, the system will automatically top‑up to IDR 500 million. BGN will allocate a daily cash pool of IDR 900 billion, with 85 % earmarked for local raw material procurement, eliminating the need for daily proposals or reimbursements.
The MBG budget for 2026 totals IDR 335 trillion, funded from the state budget (APBN) whose majority comes from tax revenues. The automatic funding is intended to improve distribution efficiency and reinforce fiscal equity.
