On 9 December 2025, 26 jurisdictions including Indonesia announced a commitment to automatically exchange property data starting in 2029 or 2030. The exchange will be carried out under the multilateral IPI MCAA agreement developed by the OECD.
IPI MCAA (Multilateral Competent Authority Agreement on the Exchange of Readily Available Information on Immovable Property) is intended to broaden taxāinformation exchange to nonāfinancial assets. Participating countries include Belgium, Brazil, Chile, Costa Rica, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, South Korea, Lithuania, Malta, NewāÆZealand, Norway, Peru, Portugal, Romania, Slovenia, South Africa, Spain, Sweden, the United Kingdom and Gibraltar.
Automatic data exchange will give tax authorities access to ownership, value, transaction history and rentalāincome information, enhancing transparency and combating tax avoidance. The OECD says the step strengthens enforcement of tax compliance on nonāfinancial assets.
